4 Gauge – Pre-workout Review 2021

Last updated: 05 Sept 2021

If you’re a regular in the gym, you’ll know that sometimes before you head off, you just don’t feel like it. Despite loving your workout and wanting to sculpt a better figure, you’ll occasionally struggle to get motivate. While you may feel like the only person that experiences this, you’re not alone. We all struggle to keep motivated from time to time.

There are products out there which can help, the most popular of which are pre-workouts. You’ll have seen them advertised and have probably used them yourself. They are designed to give you a boost in energy and thus motivation to help push your workout further.

One such product is 4 Gauge. Brought to you by the experienced heads at Roar Ambition, a UK and US based fitness and nutrition specialist. 4 Gauge is a drink which contains carefully selected ingredients to boost your mental and physical energy levels.

We’ve rounded up all the information you’ll need on this particular product, so let’s take a deeper look at 4 Gauge pre-workout.

What’s in it?

4 Gauge has its own recipe to create its unique (and great tasting) citrus flavour. Let’s take a look at the ingredients label and see if 4 Gauge can deliver on its promises.

L-Citrulline DL-Malate (6000mg) – This ingredient is an extract of watermelon. It no doubt adds to the flavour of 4 Gauge. A solid inclusion in the formula.

Caffeine (150mg) & L-Theanine (200mg) – Caffeine is a well-known stimulant and together with L-Theanine forms what 4 Gauge call a ‘smart caffeine’ ingredient.

Rhodiola Rosea (100mg) – This Scandinavian herb grows in cold regions of Europe and Asia and has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments linked to fatigue.

Red Beet (300mg) – This beetroot extract is a good source of fiber and is packed with vitamins. Another good choice for a pre-workout recipe.

Creatine Monohydrate – Creatine is well known by those who hit the gym. It is known to help your body with energy production.

Coconut water – Coconut water is a great way to get several nutrients into your body and could help to keep you hydrated and energised in the gym.

How to take it

4 Gauge recommends that you take 2 level scoops of the powder and mix with around 350ml of water to get the best taste. To get the most benefit in the gym, they recommend you take it around 30 minutes before you start exercise when you’ll start to feel the peak of its effect.

What are people saying about it

4 Gauge has some fantastic testimonials on their site. Take a look yourself here:

Most people seem to be impressed with the taste of the product, along with the fantastic packaging. More importantly, a lot of the testimonials say it has helped them work harder in the gym with no energy crashes or other side effects.

It’s all well and good for a pre-workout to give you a rocket boost but if you can’t go to sleep because of it, you’re wasting you resting time and your workout will be for nothing. Thankfully, a lot of these testimonials state that 4 Gauge doesn’t impact on your sleep.

  • Only one flavour
  • You can only buy it direct at the moment

After putting 4 Gauge through its paces we were impressed. Unlike other pre-workout powders we’ve tried, it doesn’t taste bad!

No artificial sweeteners is a great bonus for us too as we don’t want to fill our bodies with unnatural ingredients.

There are 20 servings per bottle which means you’ll get good value and it will last a while. We also noticed the effect of the drink within 10 minutes of consumption.

Plenty of people online seem to also like it. So we’d recommend giving 4 Gauge a try if you’re in the market for a great tasting new pre-workout drink.
